Today, Nokia Betalabs just published new update for Nokia Green Explorer service. Nokia Green is a multi-channel service where people dedicated to a sustainable lifestyle can explore and enjoy the world. Through Green Explorer people can share information, give guidance and communicate about eco-friendly travelling. Eco-Friendly Green Explorer is company's latest eco savvy services that provides information on a range of travel issues including tips on the most sustainable methods of transport, eco-friendly places to visit, and a way to offset the CO2 emissions when one must fly. Here some details on the changes to the previous version.
- Green Explorer now has a new Ovi look and feel and you can use your Ovi account to access the service. This is a real improvement since have difficulties with the registration emails.
- The URL has also changed to Ovi.com instead of Nokia.com. There is a new category called Get Inspired in the web service, where you can find inspiring articles from eco-minded bloggers on sustainable lifestyle and green places & events.
- By signing up to the site you can give your comments on all articles, unfortunately not yet with your Ovi account but simply with your email address.
- Now using Ovi Maps so that you can see the destination you are interested in on a map. This is currently only available on the web.
- On top of the technical also changing the angle of the content provided so the service will help people green their every-day life and not just when travelling.
It is a multi-channel service where people dedicated to a sustainable lifestyle can explore and enjoy the world. It is also a place for travellers to share advice on a range of issues from the best routes to where to find organic food or recommendations for the best eco-friendly hotels and communicate about eco-friendly travelling.
Download the Green explorer mobile widget and take your notebook with you. The notebook includes the WWF green facts for all your notebooked destinations. The widget is currently available for Nokia 5630 XpressMusic and N96.
